My vocational day was spent at Accela Marketing. The company has been in existence for over ten years and helps businesses to launch themselves into the market place. They provide help and support with branding including design, printing and advertising.
The have worked with a lot of very big companies including Digicel - the leading mobile phone network in the Caribbean.
I was shown around the company and spent time with each individual team including design, sound and vision and web design.
I also sat in on a meeting with a new client who had asked for their help to relaunch their service after 25 years of being in the market. I was able to make a valuable contribution to the meeting - offering additional ideas for promotion which would save them money.
I explained to Accela that in the UK I use a Bluetooth transmitter which allows us to send messages to everyone who has their bluetooth switched on in a 120 metre radius for an initial outlay of £500. They were really interested in this idea.
It was really useful to learn about their organisation but in turn - give them some helpful advice on how they can also improve their service.
A very constructive day
